The Top 5 Kitchen Items I Simply CANNOT Live Without

The Top 5 Kitchen Items I Simply CANNOT Live Without | A Cup of Social

We all got those items we can't live without and I definitely have a nice, long list of those things I don't feel complete without. My journals and home books, the internet, stuffed animals from mine and Phil's childhoods, and strong coffee all make the list. But since I love being in the kitchen constantly, I figured I would share the items in my kitchen that I simply cannot live without. (The list is actually longer than this, I just figured I would hit 5 of the most important items.)

My Pioneer Woman knife set and two (of my three) coffee
pots along with one of my favorite coffee mugs.
  1. Coffee Pot - I feel like this is obvious to anyone who knows me or follows me on Instagram. But I have to have some form of a coffee pot on my counter at all times. Right now, it's my Chemex pour-over pot and Hamilton Beach electric kettle, both of which get used about twice a day.
  2. Small Red Dutch Oven - I have two red, enameled, cast-iron dutch ovens. One is huge and only gets used if I am cooking a ton of food. The other one is a Calphalon one that shows its age with some wear and discoloration. I LOVE my dutch oven to no end. I can use it for practically everything and it can easily go from stove top to oven with zero issues or worries.
  3. Cast Iron Pan - Much like my dutch oven, I get a lot of use out of my Lodge cast iron pan. And much like my dutch oven, I can start an egg casserole on the stove top then pop it in the oven without worrying about it.
  4. Big Knife - No kitchen is complete without a good sharp knife, preferably one that is in a set full of good sharp knives. Mine is the beautiful teal set of Pioneer Woman knives my mother-in-law gifted us this Christmas. As soon as I am done using a knife, I go ahead and give it a quick wash and dry then put it away to keep the knives from going in the dishwasher, which can kill your blades over time.
  5. Air fryer - We might not have kids, but (gluten-free) chicken nuggets and fries are a staple in our house for quick lunches or late night snacks. Since getting our Dash compact air fryer Christmas 2017, we have used it almost daily. Not only do we get delicious nugget-goodness without any messy clean up (the basket is dishwasher safe), we aren't turning on the oven at 2 AM when a late night of working or gaming has sent us in search of food.

Until next time my lovelies!
