Watch TV For Free (Legally!)
When you are trying to cut cable (satellite, paid streaming services, etc.), sometimes you really miss the simple act of channel surfing or catching a random movie to nap through. But when your budget demands cuts or your lifestyle doesn't permit having a cable box, having alternatives is a must.
Since cutting the cable cord some time ago, I have found a handful of apps that allow me to stream TV shows and movies for free so I don't miss out on watching my favorite shows.
Full disclosure - we still have Hulu, pay for Funimation for the latest episodes of our animes and occasionally pick up a month of Sling, HBO, Netflix or Prime Video when we have something we really want to watch live or to binge on new shows, but we never keep these around longer than we need them as they add up quickly and can kill a budget quick.
Stirr
Freebie TV
Crackle
Roku TV
YouTube movies with ads
YouTube - General watching - documentaries, cooking shows, news, nature, live streams, music videos, podcasts/talk shows, diy shows, etc.
Funimation - Has a free version with commercials and limited episodes
Fite - Indie wrestling (possibly other fighting, but I just watch the wrestling)
CW app - Current CW shows
CW Seed - Older CW/WB shows as well as some newer free-to-watch shows
Shout, Nosey, etc. - Apps based off the channels streaming on apps like Pluto TV and Stirr
Adult Swim app - Because when free marathons of Rick and Morty or Robot Chicken are offered, you have to watch!
PBS app
Shudder TV - One of their TV channels is free and constantly streaming horror shows and movies
Network apps - Depending on network, some or all shows/movies may be free with ads, sometimes new episodes are on a week delay
And lastly, TV antenna - Not an app, but definitely worth having for local networks

Pluto TV - The original Unsolved Mysteries, Hell's Kitchen, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, MST3K, Paranormal State, Man vs Food, there are so many shows and so many channels, including movie channels, as well as on-demand shows and movies that you really can't go wrong here. If you have kids, there are even kid-friendly channels.Stirr
